Birthday Party: Let Them Have It in a Surprising Way

Sometimes being caught unawares is an ordeal we love to experience provided it is not going to leave us in shock. The element of surprise often leaves us in awe, and what better  avenue is there than one’s birthday. Planning a birthday party could be really tasking on its own; and how much more doing so with an element of surprise attached to it- but what will you not do to thrill that special person on a day like that. With this in mind, we have chosen to share some tips on the factors that would help in you planning. There are certain things/factors you need to put into consideration when planning a surprise birthday party and these include:

The personality of the celebrant: Since you have someone [who you hope to impress] at the receiving end of the surprise, it’s best to know the person’s hobbies; psychological orientation- whether he/she is an extrovert or introvert- and the likes and dislikes. You have to plan the surprise party around these things.

Your choice of chaperone: Whoever you will eventually select to accompany or lure the celebrant [to the venue of the party] should be someone who would flow easily with him/her (the celebrant). The chaperone is able to make the celebrant feel comfortable and lively without giving him/her a cue on what is at stake.

Communication: Everyone involved in the planning must be carried along as events unfold- a misstep could give you away. Most importantly, it is logical to keep in touch with the chaperone without stirring up any anxiety around the close celebrant.

Setting things up: After you must have settled for a venue- be it the home of celebrant or anywhere else- the next step(s) you should take is to start putting things in place- the decoration; music to be played, food and drinks, and such like. Mind you, if you have chosen the home [of the celebrant] as the venue, it is necessary to find a way of leading away from there probably with the help of the chaperone. You can find a good excuse that will help lure the ‘celebrant’.

Guest List: Consider inviting those who are very close to the celebrant, and have them keep the aura of surprise. Make sure they flow in line by hammering into their ears.

With everything set you can have the celebrant walk into an empty room [with the chaperone] - no inkling of what is at stake should be seen around. Then, roll out the drums with a melodious tune of a favourite birthday song.
